  • ENGLISH CONTEXT EXPLANATION :
IN JAPAN, ELECTRICITY IS SO MUCH A PART OF LIFE THAT IT IS OFTEN TAKEN FOR GRANTED. IN APRIL 2016, HOWEVER, THE JAPANESE RETAIL ELECTRICITY MARKET WAS DEREGULATED, ENABLING CONSUMERS TO CHOOSE THEIR ELECTRICITY PROVIDER FOR THE FIRST TIME. WITH PUBLIC INTEREST IN ELECTRICITY RUNNING HIGH, PANASONIC WANTED TO USE ITS POSITION AS A LEADING MANUFACTURER OF ELECTRONICS, HOUSING, COMMUNICATION, AND ENERGY PRODUCTS TO BEGIN A CONVERSATION WITH CONSUMERS ABOUT THE REAL VALUE OF ELECTRICITY.

  • ENGLISH CONTEXT EXPLANATION :
THE TOKYO PEN PIXEL INSTALLATION WAS CREATED USING 37,968 MULTICOLORED MUJI PENS WHICH INCORPORATE PROJECTION MAPPING, AFTER WHICH THE PENS WERE GIFTED TO CUSTOMERS.
THE DISPLAY AT THE MUJI PARIS STORE WAS A “UNIQUE CHRISTMAS GIFT” FOR TOKYO’S SISTER CITY PARIS AND CELEBRATES THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE TWO CITIES MAJOR LANDMARKS, THE TOKYO TOWER AND THE EIFFEL TOWER. THE INSTALLATION HAS BEEN CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE TOKYO METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT IN A BID TO PROMOTE THE CITY AS A TRAVEL DESTINATION.
