                BACKGROUND OVERVIEW :  
			Gunkanjima is a World Heritage site in Nagasaki, Japan. Due to typhoons and the deterioration of concrete, however, it is now on the verge of collapse. In collaboration with University of Tokyo, each building on Gunkanjima was given a 'life expectancy' – a world first. The data informed a series of posters, which combined beautiful photographs of these buildings and calligraphy showing how much time is left until they collapse. The collapsing effect of the numbers was created by drawing them on crumpled paper.
