ENGLISH SYNOPSIS :
In this visual piece, within the pitch-black space, washi appears from the water as if it is being filtered, and due to its lightweight nature, it floats and dances gracefully in the wind, just like the actual papermaking process.
The mesmerizing play of light and shadow creates a visual representation of the unparalleled presence found in the world's thinnest "Tosa tengujo" paper.
In addition, the movement of the "Tosa tengujo" paper is full of unpredictable charm.
To convey its raw appeal, we used the film scoring technique of playing music while watching the screen, and created the best session that can only be encountered once in a video work, with mysterious yet sacred movements and deep sounds played by percussion.
We wanted to convey the charm of this washi paper even more.
The advertisements titled "Veil of Japan" have caused various ripples domestically and internationally through the web and exhibitions.

ENGLISH CONTEXT EXPLANATION :
Japanese traditional paper "washi," preserved for centuries.
Crafted using the technique known as "nagashizuki (drain & strain)," washi, or traditional japanese paper, is made by intertwining natural plant fibres.
For its strong preservation preservability and environmental friendliness, it has also been evaluated by the world from the perspective of the sdgs.
"Tosa tengujo" paper born in 1880, boasts the title of the thinnest washi in the world.
With a texture as translucent as 0.02mm, akin to a transparent veil, it resembles the stratum corneum of human skin.
"Tosa tengujo" paper has been utilized in the restoration of ancient japanese literature, buddhist statues, and other cultural heritage, contributing to the preservation of traditional japanese culture.
A gentle veil of naturally derived paper has been protecting the history and culture that we want to preserve for the future for over 1000 years.
